It is measured according to the current national standards for elastomer or plastic modified asphalt waterproof coiled materials (GB18242-2008 and GB18243-2008).

Compared with the coiled material with the filament base cloth as the matrix, the filament polyester tire can have lower weight and smaller thickness than the staple fiber base cloth, so it can easily meet the standard requirements of soluble matter content, while the staple fiber base is difficult to meet the standard because of its high weight and thickness.

In terms of elongation index, no matter type I or type II coiled material, the coiled material with filament polyester tire is easy to reach the standard, while the coiled material with staple fiber tire base is difficult to reach the standard. During the thermal aging test, the coiled material with filament polyester tire is easier to reach the standard, while the coiled material with staple fiber tire base is more difficult to reach the standard.

Due to the good strength, uniformity, thermal stability and impregnation of the filament base cloth, it has better adaptability to the modified asphalt impregnation process than the staple base cloth in the production of coiled materials, which can greatly improve the production speed and efficiency of coiled materials. The production process of polyester felt base cloth is short, the production speed is fast, the output of single machine is far higher than that of staple fiber needled base, and the investment per unit output is smaller, and the comprehensive cost is lower, which is in line with the development trend of products towards low cost, low energy consumption and lightweight.

Therefore, it is widely used in the drainage consolidation of earth dams, subgrade, etc; It has the function of filtering; It has the function of isolation between different materials. It has certain protective effect to prevent damage caused by external force; It can play an anti-seepage role.
