Geotextiles are used in the northwest of China because they are always laid in a windy environment. How can they be laid to achieve good results in a windy environment, and how can they be laid flat in a windy environment? Now find out these ways in combination with reality:

1. The geotextile shall be prepared for storage, transportation and placement before laying. The geotextile roll shall be avoided and inspected for damage before laying. The geotextile roll shall be stacked in the flat area without water storage. The stacking height is usually four rolls, and the roll identification sign can be seen; The geotextile roll must be covered with opaque material to prevent ultraviolet radiation from aging.

2. During storage, please keep the label and data complete; During transportation, the geotextile roll must be protected from damage, and the geotextile roll that is physically damaged must be repaired. Geotextiles subject to obvious wear shall not be used. Geotextiles that are in contact with leaked chemical reagents shall not be used.

3. The laying method of geotextile in windy environment in northwest China; Roll paving shall be carried out manually in the direction of the wind; While laying, press the cloth with woven bags filled with soil, the cloth surface should be flat, and the deformation allowance should be reserved appropriately; The installation of long wire or short wire geotextile generally adopts three methods: overlap, suture and welding.

4. The width of stitching and welding is usually 10~15 cm, and the overlap width is usually 20 cm. The geotextile that is likely to be exposed for a long time shall be welded or stitched. The stitching of geotextile in windy environment must be continuous and firm. Before overlapping, the geotextile must overlap less than 150mm.

5. The distance between the sewing needle and the selvage (the exposed edge of the raw material) shall be at least 25 mm. The sewn geotextile joint includes one line of double-thread lock chain stitch. The resin material with small tension more than 60N shall be used for stitching fine thread, and it shall have chemical corrosion resistance and ultraviolet resistance similar to or more than that of geotextile. Any "missing needle" on the sewn geotextile must be sewn again in the affected area.

In short, the laying progress in windy environment is slower than that in normal weather, and it must be laid well. If it is laid again, it will also bring great inconvenience and consume our financial and material resources.
