1. Laying process

The filament geotextile should be protected from damage before installation and deployment. It should be stacked in a flat place without water accumulation. The stacking height should not exceed the height of four rolls, and the identification sheet of the roll can be seen. Filament geotextile must be covered with opaque material to prevent ultraviolet aging. During storage, the label and data shall be kept intact.


During the transportation process, including the transportation from the material storage site to the work site, the filament geotextile must be protected from damage. The filament geotextile that has been physically damaged must be repaired, and the geotextile that has been seriously worn cannot be used. Any geotextile in contact with leaked chemical reagent is not allowed to be used in this project.


2. Laying method

The cloth shall be rolled and paved manually, and the cloth surface shall be flat, with proper deformation allowance. All stitching must be continuous, for example, point stitching is not allowed. Before overlapping, the filament geotextile must overlap less than 150mm. The distance between the small sewing needle and the selvage (the exposed edge of the material) shall be at least 25mm. The sewn geotextile joint includes one line of thread locking chain joint method.


The thread used for stitching shall be resin material with tension more than 60N, and have chemical corrosion resistance and ultraviolet resistance equivalent to or exceeding that of geotextile. Any "missing stitches" on the sewn geotextile must be sewn again at the affected place. Corresponding measures must be taken to prevent soil, particulate matter or foreign matter from entering the geotextile layer after installation.


The lap of cloth can be divided into natural lap, seam or welding according to the terrain and use function. The width of stitching and welding is generally more than 0.1m, and the lap width is generally more than 0.2m. Geotextiles that may be exposed for a long time shall be welded or stitched. All stitching must be continuous, for example, point stitching is not allowed.


3. Wide use

Reverse filtration of dams and revetments of water conservancy projects, isolation and seepage prevention of channels; Foundation isolation, filtration, drainage, soil slope, retaining wall and pavement reinforcement and drainage of roads, railways and airport runways; Soft foundation treatment of port engineering, reinforcement and drainage of beach dike, harbor wharf and breakwater; Polyester filament geotextile has been widely used in the field of infrastructure construction, and gradually applied to a wider range of fields.


Polyester filament geotextile is also called filament non-woven geotextile, polyester non-woven geotextile, filament spunbonded needle-punched geotextile and filament permeable geotextile. According to the purpose, it can also be called permeable geotextile and polyethylene composite for waterproofing, and it can also be called waterproof geotextile.
