The blocking copper substrate is not a dressing on both sides of a layer of copper foil, but a kind of substrate cloth composed of copper foil and polyester felt. The copper-based root-resistant roll itself has the effect of physical root-resistance, but it also needs to add root-resistant agent in actual use.

Because there is no copper base at the lap joint of the lap part, it is also necessary to add a root blocking agent to ensure the root blocking effect at the joint. The copper-based root-penetrating waterproof coiled material has both physical and chemical root resistance effects, and can avoid the damage of coiled material caused by human error to a certain extent, but the disadvantage is that the cost is high.

Modified asphalt polyethylene tire root puncture waterproof coiled material also belongs to asphalt type root puncture waterproof coiled material, which is similar to the root puncture mechanism of copper base, and also has the double root puncture effect of physical root puncture and chemical root puncture. Its cost is slightly higher than SBS root puncture, and lower than copper base root puncture. During the construction of self-adhesive polymer sheet and root puncture resistant coiled material, the overlapping part must be welded with a hot-air gun, and cannot be simply bonded with self-adhesive adhesive.

When the asphalt self-adhesive root-penetrating coiled material is used in the construction of overlapping parts, it must be baked with fire and cannot be directly self-adhesive. When pasting with the base surface, both polymer coiled material and asphalt coiled material can rely on the viscosity of the coiled material itself. The thickness of all asphalt root puncture waterproof coiled materials shall not be less than 4.0mm, so all asphalt root puncture waterproof coiled materials with thickness less than 4.0mm are fake.

There are many kinds of polymer coiled materials. Generally speaking, the waterproof board, geomembrane, synthetic polymer and polymer sheet all belong to polymer waterproof coiled materials. The difference between geomembrane and waterproof board is its thickness. Generally, geomembrane below 0.8mm is called geomembrane, and waterproof board above 0.8mm is called waterproof board.

Generally, the common polymer root-resistant waterproof coiled materials include PVC, polyethylene polypropylene (polyester), TPO and HDPE, and the others, such as EPDM and EVA, are also available, but relatively few. The cost of EVA is high, and the cost of polyethylene polypropylene (polyester) is low.
