1. Thickness specification

The thickness of all copper backing bases shall not be less than 4.0mm, so all copper backing bases with thickness less than 4.0mm are fake. Generally, the common copper base of polymer resistance includes PVC, polyethylene polypropylene (polyester), TPO, HDPE, and the others, such as EPDM and EVA, are also available, but relatively few. The cost of EVA is high, and the cost of polyethylene polypropylene (polyester) is low.

2. Requirements

The "GB/T 35468-2017 Root-penetrating Waterproof Roll for Planted Roof" only specifies the types of waterproof roll in the root-penetrating material, and does not mention waterproof coating. In JGJ 155-2013 Technical Specification for Planted Roof Engineering, the requirements of polyurea as root puncture resistant waterproof coating are described in the description of all root puncture resistant waterproof materials.

3. SBS modified asphalt waterproof coiled material with copper base

The root-resistant copper-based coiled material is not a dressing on both sides of a layer of copper foil, but a kind of base cloth made of copper foil and polyester felt. Its mechanical property index is tested according to the PYG standard in GB18242-2008. The copper-based root-resistant roll itself has the effect of physical root-resistance, but it also needs to add root-resistant agent in actual use.

Because there is no copper base at the lap joint of the lap part, in order to ensure the root blocking effect at the joint, the copper base root puncture resistant roll also needs to be added with root blocking agent. Therefore, the copper-based root-penetrating waterproof coiled material has both physical and chemical root resistance effects, and can avoid the damage of coiled material caused by human error to a certain extent. However, the disadvantage is the high cost.

4. Modified asphalt polyethylene tire root puncture resistant waterproof coiled material

Modified asphalt polyethylene tire root puncture waterproof coiled material is also a kind of asphalt root puncture waterproof coiled material, which is similar to the root puncture mechanism of copper base. It also has the double root puncture effect of physical root puncture and chemical root puncture. Its cost is slightly higher than that of SBS root puncture and lower than that of copper base root puncture.

5. Construction of self-adhesive root puncture resistance

During the construction of self-adhesive polymer sheet and root puncture resistant coiled material, the overlapping part must be welded with a hot-air gun, and cannot be simply bonded with self-adhesive adhesive. When the asphalt self-adhesive root-penetrating coiled material is used in the construction of overlapping parts, it must be baked with fire and cannot be directly self-adhesive. When pasting with the base surface, both polymer coiled material and asphalt coiled material can rely on the viscosity of the coiled material itself.
